What to bring?

If this is your first - or one of your first - swing dance events then you may be wondering what to expect. Here's a few things to look out for.

Bringing clean, comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes that you can move around in.

Be aware that rubber soles on shoes makes them sticky and dancing in them is therefore harder on your knees, so we advise wearing something that gives you a little bit of slide.

A change of shirt and a small towel can also come in handy.

Stay hydrated! Scotland boasts some of the finest tap water in the world, so bring a reusable cup or bottle and help keep our impact on the environment as minimal as possible. Jugs of water will be available at the venues.

Make sure you have a good breakfast to fuel your dancing! You can bring your own lunch, or pop to one of the shops close to the venue. It also can't hurt to bring handful of snacks!

Our final piece of advice is to look after yourself, whatever that entails for you. It’s fine to take a break if you need a few minutes to catch your breath and recover some energy.
